Looks great! I'll always be a die-hard sonic fan (even if it's only of the older games) so seeing sonic related stuff is a plus to me! This is huge improvement over the older version of this emoticon! The proportions are good and the details are very clean for its small size. There's a noticable smile on his face an the shadow under his nose is a very nice touch! There's not much I can say here for improvement. You've taken this out of the typical Sonic stylization but in a nice way. The expression is a bit subtle for use as an emoticon but this would still make a really nice icon! Since you used the darker blue for his spines I'd love to see some green in his eyes to as it would go along with the 'newer' versions of him. Overall all though very nice job! You should definitely do more of them!
